those with major depression
will relapse if psychotropic
medication is ceased in
pregnancy.
■ It is recommended that the
HbA1c be maintained at ≤6 in
women with diabetes before
and during pregnancy.
■ Maternal perinatal depression
is a risk factor for premature
birth, reduced foetal growth ,PET, poor neonatal bonding
and longer-term neurodevelopmental
problems.
■ Although there is no
established safe level of
alcohol, 10-15% of women
continue to drink throughout
